Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Pro and Pro+ versions?
Pro+ is the successor to Pro with an updated user interface. It is recommended for those who want to take advantage of the ability of new-generation tachographs to download tachograph and driver card data via a Bluetooth connection. The Pro version is available for a one-time fee, while the Pro+ version has an annual subscription fee. The Pro version is not being discontinued, but no new features will be added to it — only bug fixes.
If I purchased the Pro version, am I entitled to use the Pro+ version?
Pro and Pro+ are two separate apps. Purchasing Pro does not entitle you to use Pro+.
Can I transfer my downloaded data from the Pro version to the Pro+ version?
Yes, there are several ways to do this. Under certain conditions, the operating system itself creates automatic backups of the app to your storage. However, this is not guaranteed and may not represent the most recent state. We therefore recommend that you create a backup from the Pro version (to a file or to the cloud) and restore it in the Pro+ version. If you chose to save to the cloud, the Pro+ version will automatically offer to restore the saved state on first launch.
Are previously downloaded data preserved on reinstallation?
Although several mechanisms protect against data loss (Android's automatic backup to the Google account, the app's own automatic backup — if enabled), the safest option is to create a backup yourself before reinstalling. We recommend manually starting a backup (to a file or to the cloud) before reinstalling, then restoring it in the reinstalled app. If you chose to save to the cloud, the app will automatically offer to restore the saved state on first launch.
On how many devices can I use the app simultaneously?
You can use the app on a maximum of 4 devices at the same time. Reinstalling on the same device also counts as a new installation. If you exceed the maximum number, you must decide which 4 devices you want to continue using the app on. You can select the devices you want to keep in the Licences menu.
What card reader should I buy?
The app works with any CCID-compatible card reader. Most card readers available in retail meet this criterion, and products from the better-known manufacturers (ACS, Omnikey, Gemalto, uTrust, Axagon, Rocketek, Voastek, Zoweetek, ...) will certainly cause no problems. We ourselves use ACS products (ACR39U-UF, ACR39U-NF). Where possible, choose a card reader that does not require a USB adapter and can be connected directly to the tachograph.
What kind of tachograph is suitable for Bluetooth communication?
Currently VDO and Stoneridge have this type of device. They are easy to recognise because a Bluetooth symbol is visible on their front panel. Unfortunately this alone is not sufficient, as early software versions were practically unsuitable for Bluetooth communication. For VDO the minimum required version number is 4141 (4.1b 04.01.41), and for Stoneridge it is 1619. This information can be found both in the tachograph's menu and among the printed technical data. If necessary, you can have the tachograph's software updated at a specialist workshop.
Does the app delete data from the driver card during downloading?
During downloading, the data on the driver card remains unchanged. Deleting or modifying driver card data is impossible. Only the tachograph can do this, as it holds the necessary permissions. But the tachograph only begins overwriting old data when the card is full.
Can my company download data from the driver card after I have already downloaded it?
Yes, card data can be downloaded at any time and multiple times. Reading does not delete or modify the data. There is one exception to this. The timestamp of the driver card download is written back to the card. Your company will therefore see that someone other than them has also downloaded the card, but nothing else will be affected. Tip: If you perform the download with a USB card reader, the writing back of the download timestamp can be disabled on the app's settings page.
Why does the app only show a few months of data?
The driver card has a finite capacity. When the driver card is full, new data starts overwriting the old data. Depending on the intensity of use, the card can store between 1 and 12 months of data. If you are a new user and have previously downloaded data, you can import it into the app and the app will merge it. This way you can view up to 2 years of data retrospectively.
Will the download timestamp be written back to the card after downloading?
If you download the driver card that is in the tachograph via a Bluetooth connection, the tachograph automatically writes the download timestamp back to the card. If you use a USB card reader for downloading, you can configure on the app's settings page whether the download timestamp is written back or not.
Can others see my data and infringements?
No. In accordance with our privacy policy, data is stored exclusively on your own device in a database accessible only to the app. The calculations and algorithms needed to generate the reports also run only on your device (at a speed depending on your device's performance). Your data only reaches our servers if you explicitly request this. This happens when making a cloud backup and when sending an automatic email after downloading.
Why can't I open the email attachment?
The email attachment is a standard binary file whose content is defined by legislation. This file must be retained for one year and handed over to the inspecting authority during an inspection. Windows (and other operating systems) do not recognise this file type on their own, as it is not an Excel spreadsheet, Word document, or PDF file. You need to obtain a Windows program that recognises this file type. These programs (similar to our app) are generally capable of generating PDF and Excel reports from the data in the attached file.
Why can't I see speed data and speeding?
The driver card does not contain this information, so the app does not offer these reports among those available for cards. However, you will find them in the list of reports that can be generated from data downloaded from the tachograph.
In what time zone are timestamps displayed in the app?
Tachographs store all timestamps in UTC. The app converts these to the phone's time zone when generating reports. If needed, you can change this on the app's settings page.
Why doesn't USB card reading work?
There can be several reasons for this. We recommend consulting our troubleshooting guide, which goes through the possible causes and how to resolve them in detail.

Why does my phone show a message that the app is harmful?
This is a false positive and, strangely, only appears on Honor-type phones. Only those antivirus apps that use the outdated scanning engine from the company Trustlook identify our app as harmful. You can verify this yourself by testing our app on the virustotal.com website. We recommend updating your antivirus app.
