Rest periods

The rest summary lists daily and weekly rest periods, classified and highlighted when any of them deviates from the required standard or a special rule applies.

Selecting a period

From the menu: Last 7 day, Last 28 day (default), Last 56 day or Whole period.

Rest classifications

TypeMeaning
Regular daily rest periodThe full, 11-hour (or longer) daily rest.
Reduced daily rest periodA shorter, 9-hour daily rest (where permitted, limited in number).
Split daily rest periodA daily rest taken in two parts (3 + 9 hours).
Regular daily rest period (multi-manning)A 9-hour daily rest when the vehicle is operated by a multi-manning crew.
Regular weekly rest periodThe full, 45-hour (or longer) weekly rest.
Reduced weekly rest periodA shorter weekly rest of at least 24 hours (with compensation).

Reduced rests are shown with a colour highlight so you can spot them quickly. Split (3+9 hour) rests and multi-manning rests are counted by the app as a Regular daily rest period, but marked with a dedicated icon.

Icons and indicators (tap for explanation)

Small icons on a rest row may indicate special cases; tapping them shows a short explanation. The most common ones:

Compensation requiredA reduced weekly rest means additional rest must be taken later.
CompensatedThe earlier reduction has been made up (at the stated time).
Not compensatedThe compensation deadline has passed / was not fulfilled.
Extended to regular … rest periodThe rest turned out to be longer, so it has been reclassified into a higher category.
Reclassified as reduced daily rest periodThe rest was shorter than regular, so it is counted as reduced.
Accepted / Ignored as ferry/trainA ferry or train journey during the rest is counted (or discarded if invalid/unnecessary).
Accepted / Ignored as multi-manningThe multi-manning allowance is counted (or discarded).
There was a 3-hour rest during the shiftThe first 3-hour element of a split rest.
Bus driver option / International reduced weekly restA bus/coach transport allowance or an international-rule reduction applies.

Related data on the row

  • the rest period (start–end);
  • the preceding shift's driving time (including continuous driving), other work and availability time;
  • for weekly rows: the weekly and fortnightly driving time totals, and the relevant country.
